James Carter, Founder of Luna Acupuncture Wellness | Interview

James Carter is the brains behind Luna Acupuncture Wellness. Through this facility, he offers a wide array of alternative and holistic medicine treatments that aim to stimulate the body in healing itself. The facility has been a huge success largely to James’s strong communication skills and his deep knowledge of herbology and acupuncture treatment approaches. He is specialized in diagnosis and Chinese medicine, and also incorporates the use of soul mind and body modalities and techniques to heal the body and restore balance. At the core of his practice is the knowledge that the techniques have been applied for the last 5000 years, such as the “yang sheng” concept of nurturing the body and its application through our lifestyle, thoughts, and emotions. To perfect his skills, James has studied with some of the best scholars in the world in various aspects of natural medicine and acupuncture techniques. To determine the root cause of a clients condition and determine how to help them, Carter offers a 15-minute consultation service to allow clients to understand what the process is all about. Some of the services that James offers at the Luna Acupuncture Wellness are acupuncture, herbology, Infra-red therapy, cupping, acupressure Chinese massage, sound and vibration therapy, longevity medicine, and auricular medicine among many other approaches to alternative treatment.

Where did the idea for Luna Acupuncture Wellness come from?

James Carter: I decided to pursue a education in Chinese medicine and acupuncture after receiving complete alleviation of chronic back pain after receiving acupuncture. Luna Acupuncture was born out of a passion for healing, acupuncture, and the desire to serve people and help them feel healthier and happier.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

James Carter: My day entails meeting clients to help them deal with all sorts of problems, from physical, mental to emotional ones. We use a wide variety of techniques and tools within acupuncture and Chinese medicine to help people reach their goals.

How do you bring ideas to life?

James Carter: I bring ideas to life by simply implementing them as fast as they come. I avoid procrastination and strive to be efficient, and focused on my tasks.

What’s one trend that excites you?

James Carter: I am most excited about the increased awareness of alternative medicine. It is not just good for my business, but also a healthier, and happier way of life. Acupuncture is one of the fastest growing modalities in the world!

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

James Carter: I am very responsive to customer needs. This has helped draw in lots of clients through referrals and also establish valuable long-term relations. I take the time to get to know my clients and strive to serve them well.

What advice would you give your younger self?

James Carter: I would tell my younger self to work hard towards self-awareness. Once you discover who you are, it becomes easier to do things that are in line with your strengths.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

James Carter: That acupuncture and a holistic approach to health will one-day be the first line of treatment, not drugs or surgery. So far stats show that the industry is on an exponential growth path, and is a validation of my view.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

James Carter: I never stop researching new ways to make my clients happy. They are the reason I have been in business for all these years.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

James Carter: I like to have informational tables and booths at different events in the community as a way to connect with people. Its great to meet people I can help who otherwise would not have met me.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

James Carter: My biggest failure was starting a venture I was not passionate about many years ago. I suffered a financial loss, but it was also a major lesson that played a role in my current success.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

James Carter: I would advise someone to develop A.I. skills. It’s not in my line of work but I can tell there is lots of potential for it in it the long term. We live in the digital age and with current world events that trend is going to continue.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

James Carter: I gave it to a homeless person and he showed lots of emotion and gratitude. It humbled me to know that my $100 had improved someone’s day so much.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

James Carter: I use Zoom a lot. It has been very helpful in these times of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have handled many cases online that would have otherwise been a challenge in person.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

James Carter: I would recommend the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It’s an eye opener on how daily habits can make or break your life.

What is your favorite quote?

James Carter: One of my favorite quotes is “almost everything worthwhile carries with it some sort of risk, whether it’s starting a new business, whether it’s leaving home, whether it’s getting married, or whether it’s flying into space.” It speaks deeply on the power of taking risks.
